About me

My name is Aliya Shaholli, I grew up in Shepparton, Victoria but moved to Melbourne to pursue my studies in 2017 as a computer science student, but instead found my calling in design and media.

I began my work as a graphic and web designer through an internship at Entrust ICT, a wholesale networking company (don’t worry I don’t quite know what that means either) and shortly after got promoted to their social media manager.

Upon completing my Bachelor of Design (Communications Design) and Bachelor of Media and Communications (Digital Advertising Technology) degrees at the Swinburne University of Technology I began working full time at Locks Lash (one of Australia’s largest Lash and Brow beauty trainers and suppliers) as their social media manager, content creator and graphic designer.

When I’m not working I can be found at the Melbourne Cheer Academy training with my reigning national grand championship cheerleading team! Prior to graduation I was also the social media manager and graphic designer of Swinburne Cheerleading and Dance. Sport is a massive part of my life and I would love another opportunity to mix my passions for design and media with my passion for sport (particularly cheerleading and AFL) in the future.

My areas of specialty are in content creation, social media and digital design (including email templates and web design), branding, publication and print design, merchandising and information/infographic booklets. I also have experience in digital advertising i.e. social media and website analytics, tailoring and generating advertising campaigns to optimise social media and website SEO and traffic. I am proficient in Adobe’s creative suite (such as; Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro) as well as Canva and website builders such as WordPress.

For the past year at my current job, I have specialised in EDM creation on Klayvio. Website design on Shopify and content creation for TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. As well as graphic design via Illustrator and Canva for Ebooks, packaging, and print work such as flyers, postcards, merchandise and business cards. This was done across both the parent brand (Locks Lash) and it’s two sister brands (Simply Naked Beauty and The Lash Idols). I also assisted with a brand redesign across all 3 brands, creating updated logos, colour palettes and design guidelines to maintain across all of the online and physical branding.
